Appraisals

Formal written appraisals by Colette, for insurance, estate and family purposes.

Colette is a qualified gemmologist and Professional Jewellery Appraiser (G.G., F.G.A., P.J.A., C.A.P.). She has forty years of experience. She examines each item herself and writes the report.

Arrange an appointment to discuss your appraisal needs. We review your jewellery before any appraisal work is confirmed, and discuss an estimate with you.

What an appraisal is for

Insurance

A written appraisal for insurance purposes.

Estate

A written appraisal for estate and family purposes.

Family

A family appraisal records what an item is and what it is worth, so that its story passes on with it.

How it works

  1. Bring the item in

Bring your jewellery to the store during opening hours. If you would like Colette to set time aside, request an appointment first.

  2. Colette examines it

Colette examines the metal, the gemstones and the workmanship, and describes the item exactly as it is.

  3. An estimate is discussed

We review your appraisal needs before any work is confirmed. An estimate for the appraisal work is discussed with you.

  4. Collect the report

We call you when the report is ready. You collect it, with your jewellery, at the store.

What the report covers

Each report describes the item from the metal, to the centre gemstone, then outward to the side gemstones and the setting. It states what the item is and what it is worth for the purpose you need.

  • An estimate for the appraisal work is discussed with you before any work is confirmed.
  • A written appraisal is complimentary with custom design work.
